Eli and Seth just finished soccer season and are already on to baseball. They really enjoyed playing soccer. They were very assertive on the field (no surprise) and no one could tell them apart (no surprise). They really led the team with passing moves - none of the other kids were really passing until they saw the boys do it. As a mother of twins and an observer of human behavior, I noticed that the boys were able to somehow instinctively know where the other one was on the field and were able to pass to each other and work together very well. It was quite fascinating to watch.
They both liked playing defense too - they liked to stay back a bit and anticipate the ball and then not let it get past them. Despite their preference for defense, they scored their share of goals. And when they scored or anyone else did, their hands were up and they were yelling and running around. They would have won Mr. Team Spirit awards had that been an option. At the end of the season, the coaches said they would take the "Clayton boys" anytime on their future teams. It was so fun to watch!
So cool! We just started soccer, and clearly passing is a tough concept for this age. We need those "Clayton boys" to show us how it's done!!
