This was by far our best Halloween ever. Our neighborhood, the Woodlands, is famous for being an American neighborhood. So where do all the Singaporeans go for Halloween? To the Woodlands. It was like a carnival. People tell stories of buying 3000 pieces of candy and running out. So I guess that means thousands of people come here. They open up the American school for parking and literally busses of families come here for the evening. The costumes were amazing! Very clever. And I didn't realize that the neighbors decorate their homes in the best and scariest things they can come up with. We didn't do any decorating, but still had "customers". Everyone had their cameras and were taking pictures of costumes and homes.
Mark was in Beijing that night but the 4 of us went around and trick or treated just on a couple of streets. It was so fun! Then we went back to our house and opened up our gate and handed out candy. Last year in Cincinnati the boys were so disappointed that we didn't have any "customers". This year, we had plenty. I had a big bag of dum dum suckers from Costco - 360 suckers. We were out of candy within 10 minutes (I timed it). But it was fun. When we ran out of candy we went upstairs and watched people from the balcony. It was like the Blackfoot fair or a carnival and we loved it! We've never had such a great Halloween!
Eli was a baseball player. Seth was a transformer. Maren was a princess. And everyone thought my kids were so adorable, which, of course, they are!
