Little India

How cool that we live in one country that is the home to many cultures. Last weekend we went to Little India (which by the way is right next to China town). November 5 is one of India's biggest holidays - Deepavali, also called the Festival of Lights. They have lights strung across the major street of Little India, it was so cool. They have all of these shops set up and people worship in their Hindu temples, which as you saw from the photo has replicas of all of the different gods on the outside of the temple.

We went to Little India to see the lights and walk around. I bought Maren a little Muslim dress, which is so cute. It was on sale for Deepavali - how convenient. We stood out as usual, but it was very fun. I love the saris, the dresses the women wear, they are gorgeous. It's so fun to walk around and just look and see all the interesting things here. It's so awesome!
